Doctor Jim Bob

"Leo"

Height: 15.2 hh

Age: 2006

Color: Chestnut

Breed: American Saddlebred

Gender: Gelding

Registered: Yes

Price: $3000 negotiable

Doctor Jim Bob "Leo" is a 12 year old registered American saddlebred gelding ready to go in any direction with the right person. Leo started out saddleseat, spent 8 years as a trail horse, and was restarted as a hunter/jumper two years ago with 60 days of professional training. He would excel as an eventer or in the jumper ring, and has competed at local shows.

Leo is a sweetheart on the ground and has more go than whoa under saddle. He loads, clips, ties, and stands for the farrier. He stands at 15.2hh, and is an easy keeper, barefoot, and currently requires no maintenance. He's spent most of the last year as a pasture pet due to mild lameness, but has come back 100% sound and is ready for a new job! Plenty of eye-grabbing chrome make this handsome guy a real catch!

Leo would do best with intermediate/advanced rider to continue his jumping career, but would make a suitable trail/pleasure mount for someone with less experience. $3000, negotiable to the right home.

SOLD

DRF Jackpot "Jackie"

Height: 15.2 hh

Age: 2007

Color: Gray

Breed: Dutch X Am. Warmblood

Gender: Mare

Registered: No

Price: $7500 OBO

“Jackie” is a true “pocket-rocket” looking to win for you in the Jumper ring. This mare is FAST, light and quick on her feet, turns on a dime, super careful, and incredibly scopey; jumps a “10” every time with her knees tucked to her chin! Started late in life and has 1.5 years of professional training under her belt. Jackie has recently been ridden by a handful of intermediate/advanced students and taken two of them successfully to our first 2 shows of the season. She would excel with one owner but has shown us a tremendous amount of tolerance being used in our lesson program!

Jackie is ready to move up the ranks in the jumper ring. Don't let her height fool you, this mare can JUMP; she is built like a tank and takes up a good amount of leg so can easily carry a taller rider. We really believe she will be unbeatable in the jumper ring with the right rider. Jackie definitely is a more sensitive, forward/hot ride so needs a bold, secure, quiet partner to focus her energy. She is fairly "point-and-shoot" and does best with a rider who just lets her do her job without too much "picking/nagging"; however she listens very well to a decisive rider and is very forgiving of mistakes.

Jackie naturally carries herself well and has a very balanced WTC; will work in frame. Easy to find the jumps on, carries a big step and has her changes. Same ride on or off property, has been to several clinics and shows; has shown Pre-green Hunters and up to .95 Jumpers. Schooling 1.0 meters at home with scope for High Ch/Ad or higher. Has schooled XC.

Although Jackie is a hot/forward ride she is not spooky with no rear/bolt/buck. We do recommend a confidant/bold experienced intermediate to advanced amateur rider working with a trainer or a professional rider to continue her education. She is a very sweet and easy girl on the ground; stands like a lady for vet/farrier (currently barefoot) and to be tacked/groomed/bathed. Hauls, ties, clips. No vices, no soundness issues.

SOLD

DRF Chrysanthemum "Annie"

Height: 15.3 hh

Age: 2010

Color: Chestnut

Breed: Holsteiner X Am. Warmblood

Gender: Mare

Registered: No

Price: $7500

“Annie” is an adorable young mare looking to be your next jumper or eventing partner-in-crime! She is a compact and balanced girl with 1.5 years of professional training under her belt; she has also been ridden consistently by intermediate and above riders in lessons and at shows with a great amount of tolerance. She is still a bit green and can still have spunky “baby moments” but is a brave, reliable, scopey, careful, and willing jumper with her own quiet motor.

Annie is very eager to please her rider and loves having a job. She does best with a confident partner who will clearly and concisely tell her what to do; we believe this mare wants to be an easy point-and-shoot packer in the jumper or eventing arenas with more time and mileage! She can take a joke when her rider makes a bad decision and does not hold errors against her human partner.

This mare is also quite a lovely mover; balanced WTC in frame, has her changes, has schooled XC, and has even fox-hunted. Shown in the jumper ring up to .95 (reserve champion at second show with her young adult amateur rider), schooling 1.0 at home, with enough scope for the High Ch/Ad. Listens very well to the rider’s seat cues so is easily rate-able both on the flat and over fences; she does have her own motor but just put her where you want her and hit “cruise control”!! Easy to find the jumps on and floats over them like a gazelle.

No stop/refusal, no bolt, not spooky, not typically “mare-ish” and pretty much the same girl on or off property in any weather. Does not like heavy traffic or other horses “tail-gating” her. Stands for vet/farrier (currently barefoot) and to be tacked/groomed/bathed.
